Mercury Child

January 19, 2014

The first track by New Jersey producer Blood Cultures made a big impact last fall. It was and still is immensively populair on Soundcloud but didn’t really convince me, although I definitely heard a lot of potential in it. Gladly his second effort Mercury Child is more my cup of tea. It has that washed out atmosphere that I dig with a lot of little tropical influences. The advice: keep two eyes on this guy.

Starfish Kids

Starfish Kids by Nomadic Firs must be the most interesting song I’ve heard so far in the new year. With a toolbox of different genres (shoegaze, lo-fi, chillwave) Tennessee experimentalist Ryan Boos manages to create a light psychedelic trip of nearly four minutes. And it will crawl under your skin, mark my words.
