This morning during my routine blogcheck searching for some good music I stumbled upon this precious little gem called Nightdriving by the four man band Peers. It’s the perfect lo-fi pop song (including an addictive chorus) for this summer. Seems they haven’t got a real album out yet, but I’m sure that won’t be for long. Definitely a band to keep an eye on.

Beat Culture is the 17 years old Sunik Kim from the United States. In January he released his debut album called Tokyo Dreamer, which you can download for free from his bandcamp page. His biggest influences are SBTRKT, Gold Panda, Balam Acab, Burial and Hudson Mohawke. The track below is one of my favorites. I think it’s because of the rain/piano/beat combination. Great shit.

Yesterday I discovered a great producers duo from, I’m proud to say, Heerhugowaard, Netherlands. Fokke de Wit and Martin van der Heide call themselves Änimal, which I think is a good name. I don’t know why, but it is just so. Above all their music is well crafted and they have a good music taste. Mount Kimbie and James Blake seem to be one of their big influences. They’ve got a debut EP named But First Of All out on the Vresh Label. Support these guys!

Norwegian (!) producer Torkelson delivers a special and uplifting track with Markjordbær. The rest of his self-titled album can be streamed in its entirety over at the No Fear of Pop label.

Lucky One

Lucky One is a pretty amazing track from the Cork, Ireland duo Young Wonder. Producer Ian Ring lays down the beats for vocalist Rachel Koeman, which makes a fine combination. Also be sure to check out their Soundcloud page.
